We know that times are hard right now and we are here to help you! We have a number of programs available to help you attain employment, mentorship, and more. Look below for our three major programs: Project Heal, Thousand Strong and TOT.
What we're up to...
The Foundation has been awarded money from the CARES Act by the City of Sacramento and our goal is to place individuals affected by covid-19 into the construction industry - either on the field or in the office/warehouse. There's a spot for everyone. Click to learn more!
Project: My Own Bed
This charitable cause gives bunk beds and bedding to deserving families in the community. Our OSY participate in these as a way of serving the community and learning construction management.
Check out our free online job board. Sign-up to receive weekly emails of new job postings in the NorCal region.
Sierra College, in collaboration with the BIA, created a Construction Fundamentals Course. Click the link above to learn more about our class of Fall 2020! There will be a bootcamp in the spring as well!
Out of School Youth (OSY)
Our OSY program works with 18 - 24 year olds to develop their work-readiness skills. We're already halfway through it's program year and most of our youth are employed! If you're interested in joining the program, visit the OSY page.
Harbor Freight Fellows
High school seniors have an opportunity to earn a $1000 scholarship after completing 120 hours with a local trades mentor. We've placed six individuals and they'll soon be completing their hours!
Skilled Trades Job Fair
In the spring, the Foundation hosts a job fair to connect job seekers with a wide range of job and training opportunities. Unfortunately for Spring 2020, it's been cancelled due to COVID-19. Sign up on our 5k5in5 job board to receive updates on job opportunities.
In partnership with Mayor Steinberg and the City of Sacramento, we are connecting in school and out of school individuals with internships in the construction industry. The internship is paid and provides work experience and work readiness skills! Click to see which program you're eligible for.
Every summer we host interns and match them with homebuilders in the area. Click above to find out more about hosting or becoming an intern!
Senior Hiring Fair
Every year we host a hiring fair with builders and trades for graduating seniors in the local community. Visit the page for more info.
Cosumnes River College
Do you know about Cosumnes River College's CTE program? They have several programs and certifications that allow you to get a head start in the construction industry.
