We know that times are hard and we are here to help you! We have a number of programs available to help you attain employment, mentorship, and more. Look below for our two major programs: Thousand Strong and TOT.
What we're up to...
Project: My Own Bed
This charitable cause gives bunk beds and bedding to deserving families in the community. Our OSY participate in these as a way of serving the community and learning construction management.
Sierra College, in collaboration with the BIA, created a Construction Fundamentals Course. There is a Fall bootcamp coming up August 24th! Enrollment is limited capacity and there is a virtual info session so register now to learn more!
Check out our free online job board. Sign-up to receive weekly emails of new job postings in the NorCal region.
After School Workshops
Hands-on workshops are lead by trades practitioners to introduce students to their professions. Contact your school's CTE counselor or click the link above for more info.
Out of School Youth (OSY)
Our OSY program works with 18 - 24 year olds to develop their work-readiness skills. We're already halfway through it's program year and most of our youth are employed! If you're interested in joining the program, visit the OSY page.
Harbor Freight Fellows
High school seniors have an opportunity to earn a $1000 scholarship after completing 120 hours with a local trades mentor. We've placed six individuals and they'll soon be completing their hours!
Skilled Trades Job Fair
In the spring, the Foundation hosts a job fair to connect job seekers with a wide range of job and training opportunities.
Every summer we host interns and match them with homebuilders in the area. Click above to find out more about hosting or becoming an intern!
In partnership with Mayor Steinberg and the City of Sacramento, we are connecting in school and out of school individuals with internships in the construction industry. The internship is paid and provides work experience and work readiness skills! Click to see which program you're eligible for.
Senior Hiring Fair
Every year we host a hiring fair with builders and trades for graduating seniors in the local community. Visit the page for more info.
