Internships in the Trades

What's so great about internships?

Hosting interns of any age is a great way to introduce the next generation of workers to our industry and the amazing career opportunities it holds!

Hosting interns can also be a great solution to any labor shortages you may be experiencing, particularly during the busiest time of year - SUMMER!

If you're a Sacramento area employer interested in hosting interns contact the Program Administrator, Amanda, at

[email protected] or (916)751-2755

Are you a BIA Member?

The North State BIA has generously contributed $150,000 to help offset wages for the summer of 2018!

All BIA members in good standing are eligible to receive a $1600 reimbursement for intern wages for interns hired through the NSBIF Internship Program who work at least 160 hours.

Interns can be any age from 16-24, meaning you get to choose whether you want high school or college interns!

Skill Building Workshops

More than 60 after school skill-building workshops will be held in fall 2017 at 10 local high schools for juniors and seniors to prepare them for internships in the trades. If you would like to participate during the 2018 school year in teaching the students the tricks of your trade, contact the Program Administrator!
