The Hiring Assistance Program (HAP) provides employers a reimbursement for hiring and providing initial orientation and training to a new full time employee.
The program serves residents of Sacramento County who are currently unemployed or are low-income.
Training completed is eligible for wage reimbursement for up to six months of on-the-job training. Total reimbursement depends on the availability of funds and the amount of training needed by your new hire.
Candidates can be chosen by the employer and then referred to us for an eligibility check prior to starting work, or eligible referrals can be sent to you for interview.
What employers are saying
“The Folks at NSBIF have been very helpful in our hiring efforts. I can contribute at least 75% of our new employees to their efforts. The Grant allows us to thoroughly train a new employee for relatively no cost. I wholeheartedly endorse the program and recommend it highly.” -Scott Stewardson, Republic Electric West Inc.
“With our small business beginning to grow, hiring another employee was going to be necessary; however difficult on our bottom line. The OJT program gave us an opportunity to not only help in the hiring process, but in the training process as well.” -Becky Haupt, Phil Haupt Electric
